Understanding Values - Integrating Heritage

The Cultural Heritage Integration Lab (CHI-L) is an independent, research-driven practice exploring how cultural heritage informs creation stewardship. Through artistic inquiry, critical essays and applied R&D projects, we examine the social, cultural, and material dimensions of heritage, analyse the relationships people have with these values, and guide the responsible transformation and reuse of existing buildings, from early-stage value assessment to integrated transformation concepts that align cultural meaning with technical performance. By combining reflection with practice, CHI-L aims to generate sustainable, positive outcomes for communities and their environment.
